True blue umpires

Tennis Officials Australia has announced a move to a new blue uniform shirt for all chair and line umpires. The current grey, long-sleeved shirt will be phased-out over the next four years.

Kerrilyn awarded silver ITF referee's badge

April 2010

Australia's top chair umpire Kerrilyn Cramer has been awarded her silver referee's badge after passing the ITF's Level Three School in New Delhi, India. Four other Australian officials received their bronze chair umpires' badges.

Tennis Officials Australia NSW Division is a non-profit incorporated association servicing the tennis officiating needs of New South Wales at professional through to local events. We are affiliated with Tennis Officials Australia. We work closely with Tennis Australia and Tennis New South Wales, and are the formal body of officials supporting the tennis community within Australia and New South Wales.

Becoming An Umpire

 The first step towards becoming a qualified tennis official is to attend a course on the general principles of officiating. This course covers the rules of tennis, the role of officals, communication in officating as well as an on court session.On successful completion of this course you will be a qualified official, with experience and further training this will enable you to work tennis events such as the Medibank Sydney International, Australian Open and Davis Cup ties.
